Although the Daughters of Charity give direct assistance to those in need, they actively work for systemic change in
society to empower the poor. Given good opportunities, the poor can learn to support themselves and become contributing members
of the communities in which they live.
Rooted in their love and dedication to the most abandoned and destitute, the Daughters involve others in this Gospel call
to share their bread with the hungry and shelter the homeless and oppressed.
No form of poverty is foreign to the Daughters of Charity. True to
their Charism, they consistently work with others to improve the
living conditions of those most in need of their care.
